2024年7月に世界文化遺産に指定された「佐渡島の金山」。その金山周辺から産出される赤土は、「無名異」と呼ばれる鉱物を含み、かつては薬として使われていた。海外にも広く知られる人間国宝 伊藤赤儘氏の窯元を擁する。

The “Sado Island Gold Mine,” designated as a World Cultural Heritage site in July 2024. The red clay mined in the area surrounding the gold mine contains a mineral called “Mumyoi,” which was once used as medicine. The island is also home to the kiln of Mr. Ito ASekijin, a Living National Treasure widely recognized overseas.
